New Wireless Module Prototype Spotted - EW-WU300

When I browsed the Weight Weenies forum this week, I spotted this post by ooo.

ooo and the EW-WU300 on Weight Weenies

Now... the older EW-WU111 is a D-fly wireless module - it is used to add Bluetooth/ANT connectivity to 11-speed Di2 bikes. The technology is no longer used, since modern 12-speed Di2 groupsets have this connectivity built into the rear derailleur.

That begs the question... what could this WU300 prototype be used for?

There are a couple of things I can think of, and perhaps the most obvious one is to add wireless connectivity to e-bikes. For example, RD-U6070/U6050 work with the Q'Auto hub, but don't have any wireless connectivity.

Similarly, some EP801 systems don't connect to phones out of the box.

Thinking a bit more outside the box, something I wouldn't put it past Shimano is using the EW-WU300 to connect 11-speed TT / Tri shifters to future 13-speed bikes. It sounds crazy, but anything is possible!
