To check the 10/11-speed main battery charge, press any **shift button** for about **0.5 seconds**. Personally, I prefer to press **both buttons** on the shifter, because that'll prevent the rear derailleur from shifting all the way up/down the cassette.

Right after the battery check, the LEDs will [show the selected shift mode](/shiftmode11/), if available.

To check your 10-speed/11-speed Di2 main system battery charge level, press any shift button for about 0.5 seconds, and the LEDs will show the charge level.

Di2 has a lot of functionality that is triggered using the bike's function button, and the LEDs next to that button report the bike's status using a series of lights and flashes. The location of these buttons and LEDs is different for 10-speed, 11-speed, and 12-speed Di2, as well as the light patterns.

If you have different generation Di2 bikes this gets really complicated, really fast.

Di2 LEDs can blink and flash in a couple of different ways, and what the junction box/derailleur button does depends on how long you press it... and what buttons you pressed before. This can get confusing, so here are some cheat sheets to help with that.
