12-speed Di2 bikes have **BluetoothLE** and **ANT** functionality out of the box. 

This means that you can connect your bike to most bike computers by adding the bike as a *sensor*, and show the selected gears and battery info on screen.

To **change settings** or **update firmware** using the Android/iOS mobile app [E-Tube Cyclist](/di2-e-tube-software-and-downloads/#etpcyclist), you need to enter **Bluetooth Connection mode**.

You do so by pressing the **rear derailleur button** for **0.5 - 2 seconds**. 

The LED will **flash blue** while the bike is in Bluetooth connection mode (for about **30 seconds**).

Di2 has a lot of functionality that is triggered using the bike's function button, and the LEDs next to that button report the bike's status using a series of lights and flashes. The location of these buttons and LEDs is different for 10-speed, 11-speed, and 12-speed Di2, as well as the light patterns.

If you have different generation Di2 bikes this gets really complicated, really fast.

Di2 LEDs can blink and flash in a couple of different ways, and what the junction box/derailleur button does depends on how long you press it... and what buttons you pressed before. This can get confusing, so here are some cheat sheets to help with that.
