Connect the SM-PCE02 to 12-speed bikes for troubleshooting
There are so many ways to connect a 12-speed bike to a windows computer, it can get rather confusing - here are some of my own preferred methods of connecting these bikes to the SM-PCE02.
The EW-AD305 adapter lets you connect the older EW-SD50 wires to the new EW-SD300 E-Tube wires.
You plug in the EW-SD50 in one end, the EW-SD300 in the other end. This way you can connect current and future Di2 components to each other.
It is about 31mm long and 8mm in width / diameter.
If you want to update the firmware on 12-speed Di2 components, you'll need to use the SM-PCE02 tool. This tool was released a couple of years ago, long before the EW-SD300 wiring standard even existed.
As a result, you need to use an EW-AD305 adapter to connect the SM-PCE02 to 12-speed bikes. They're not expensive, but it's something to be aware of.
