The FD-R8150 is Shimano's new 12 speed Di2 Front Derailleur, to be used with the semi-wireless R8150 groupset released in 2021.
It works with the BT-DN300 battery and EW-SD300 Electric Wire.
So the new Di2 components are wireless but still have E-Tube Ports. What gives?
The new Di2 system is only semi-wireless, meaning that the derailleurs are still plugged into the battery, but the shifters send their shift commands wirelessly.
This front derailleur is meant to be used with a 12-speed rear derailleur. Just like when Di2 made the jump from 10 speed to 11 speed, this new front derailleur won't work with older 11-speed derailleurs.
